One of the most viewed TV channels in Pakistan, Geo TV airs shows in Urdu. The structure of the show has been in existence since the mid-1990s. The content of the show is a mixture of soap operas, cartoons, and talk shows. It broadcasts about 250 hours of fresh programming every month and is suitable for adults. Geo is a good option for those who don't like violent cartoons or pop culture references.

Geo TV is headquartered in Dubai Media City but the channel also has an uplink teleport station in the United Arab Emirates. The first episode, "The Geologist", aired on Paksat 1R December 20, 1998. It was produced by 20th Television, Glass Ball Productions and Disney-ABC Domestic Television. The show was renewed for a ninth season in May 2016, and for a second season in October of 2018.  
It is popular in the UK and the US. In the United States, Geo TV was broadcast on ABC from December 1998 until July 2000. In Canada, Geo TV was broadcast by Teletoon and YTV. From October 2002 to December 2018, it was broadcast by CBC. It was broadcast in Australia on Fox8 and Seven Network. It ran in Australia on 7mate from between September 23rd and November 18th 2009.  
Geo Network was founded in 2002. It began its first program, Geo News in October 2002. Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman joined Geo in 2003. The first news show, Capital Talk, was hugely successful. Later, Geo Super was relaunched in September 2006 as well as Geo Dost became the sports channel. The network is accessible in more than 100 countries.

It has been broadcast from September 2002 through Australia's Seven network.

AAG TV and GEO Movies were also launched. Its films have also been well-loved in various areas of the globe. The most famous films produced by Geo TV are the ones with the characters in the Japanese Alps. Geo TV has its own unique design, pakistani dramas list and the characters are often comical.
