About Me

Not all Office 365 subscription plans come with the fully installed Office applications. See the bottom of the Office for business column for a list of plans that don't include the Office desktop client. But where are millions of users going for easy trouble shooting within the Microsoft Office 365 suite? Troubleshooting library sites and FAQ's online can get overwhelming to search through, let alone to find technical solutions that are written in laymen's terms. We are about to break down 5 of the most common issues and how to resolve them in the comfort of your own office (or home).

Advantages of Having an Office 365 Suite

It runs multiple tests in terms of configuring and solving any potential problem. When it can’t do that, the program will advise you on how to deal with it, providing links containing instructions. The simplest one is a problem with a connection to the Internet, or a firewall blocking network connections. Important thing to remember is that you will be able to change your password by yourself if the administrator in your organization allows users to change their passwords. If not, the password reset page provides you with a possibility to contact your administrator.

Common issues

If you have forgotten your password for the Office 365 account, try to recover or reset the password. If your Office 365 subscription has expired, buy a new license and extend your subscription for a new period. The steps to access the repair tool vary depending on your operating system. If a Microsoft 365 application such as Word or Excel isn't working correctly, sometimes restarting it will fix the problem. As an Office 365 admin, you can check Office 365 service health.

One of the features of Office 365 is that users can work on their current Word or PowerPoint projects either on their mobile device or computer. As long as you’re working with your account logged in, the application should automatically save your progress on OneDrive and sync it to your device. However, errors can happen when the device is currently offline or not connected to a network. When you install Office it's automatically linked to your Office 365 plan.

Email and Synchronization Issues

You may encounter issues when using any application, and Office 365 is no exception. Not all issues are caused by bugs left unpatched by the software vendor or by third-party applications like the recent Crowdstrike incident that caused a global O365 outage. Many issues that you may face day-to-day can be fixed on the client side. If you encounter an issue in Office 365 that can only be fixed by the vendor, Microsoft usually releases an update to resolve any known issues as soon as possible. Upon restart if you are still receiving an error message, it might be time to confirm your subscription status for Office. To do this navigate to Microsoft account

Install Office through Microsoft HUP

Use the Microsoft 365 shared computer activation (SCA) troubleshooter to enable shared computer activation for Microsoft 365 applications. All you need to do is log in to your OneDrive account on the web browser, and drag the files you want to the documents folder. The update channel used by Office 365 depends on your Office 365 subscription plan and on configuration. However, sometimes employees may not have the required permissions to open and edit an item.If one of these resolves your problem, close the app and continue working.

If you have a disorganized folder or keep too many files, it’s easy to make the mistake of deleting the wrong file and sending it to the recycle bin. Fortunately, documents that were sent to the recycle bin aren’t immediately and permanently removed. If the provided recommendations don’t help you resolve the issues or you want to send Office 365 complaints, call Microsoft support. Try testing the configuration of your Office 365 email system and fix the problems that are preventing users from using the email services.

You Tech fixes at FixTechGuide can unintentionally send an important Microsoft 365 item to the recycle bin, especially if you have too many files on your device’s hard drive. Still, the files you send to the recycle bin are not permanently removed. An internet connection is not available or a firewall is blocking network connections. Reboot your system and try to launch your Outlook app after to check if the synchronization issues are solved. Check POP3 and SMTP settings for connecting to Microsoft mail servers (addresses of servers, ports, encryption, authentication).

Use this easy fix tool to uninstall Office and then follow the steps to reinstall Office. All you need to do is log in to your OneDrive account on the web browser, and drag the files you want to the documents folder. If after running the Remote Connectivity Analyzer Office 365 issues are not fixed, try using Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant.
