About Me

Since the developers have already made it clear that a lot of the game will take place both in and outside of Hogwarts, it's hard to imagine the player's adventures away from school being devoid of magical use. The trailer portrays a student fighting off a masked villain in a dark woods — likely the Forbidden Forest — along with encountering trolls and dragons in unidentifiable settings. One shot shows a student attacking a charging Graphorn with his wand, before dodging out of harm's way. Whether or not this takes place on school grounds is uncertain. Still, using magic outside of school seems like a must in this game, considering a good chunk of time is spent away from Hogwa
Hogwarts Legacy was announced last summer as an original RPG in the Harry Potter universe. Players will take control of a student at the magical school of Hogwarts decades prior to the arrival of "the boy who lived". The game will open up a lot of unseen angles to this universe, such as expanding on its history while also showcasing iconic locations. The game looks very promising, but more recent developments have caused some concern. The game's lead designer, Troy Leavitt, has been under fire after journalist Liam Robertson discovered that he has a history of spreading controversial Gamergate rhetoric on a personal YouTube chan
**Hogwarts Legacy ** has had no shortage of controversies, particularly regarding its creators, but the team is making efforts to prove it won't define the new game. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has gained a lot of attention online in recent years following her dismissive comments towards transgender people as well as retroactively making key characters gay to seem diverse. This caused some discomfort with the team working on Hogwarts Legacy , with many trying to distance themselves as much as they could for a game that benefits Rowl
Warner Bros. hasn't addressed the issue directly, but it has tried to rectify it in a different way. Bloomberg is reporting that developer Avalanche is making an effort to include trans characters in Hogwarts Legacy by giving freedom in character creation. Players can reportedly choose a male or female voice, regardless of body type, and also choose if they're addressed as a witch or wizard which also determines their dorm. This hasn't been "officially" confirmed by Warner Bros. or Avalanche, as it was reported using anonymous sour
While released content for **Hogwarts Legacy ** is currently limited, it is already clear that the new addition to the Harry Potter franchise is planning on an open world game with active exploration. With access to areas like Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest, as well as Hogwarts itself, it is clear that this game is planning on taking the magical world of Harry Potter to the next level for fans of the series and gamers alike. However, in the past Harry Potter games have been linear, with limited exploration available to players. What can Hogwarts Legacy learn from open world games like Skyrim that have set the standard for RPG explorat
Hogwarts is a place full of dangerous creatures, environments, and situations. No parent in their right minds should allow their children to go there, magic or no magic. There’s a giant angry three-headed dog in the cellar ffs! Who allowed that? Anyway, the pinnacle of these life threatening situations is the Triwizard Tournament. Young children are put face-to-face with fire-breathing dragons, then have to rescue their best friends from drowning at the bottom of a lake, and are finally forced to make their way out of a maze filled with deadly traps and a Dark Lord or two. If made well, the Triwizard Tournament would make one hell of a major side-quest, and a good source of Galleons
Of course, inclusivity is important, but this doesn't fix the issue – if anything it may make it more concerning. If there are people working on trying to include trans characters but don't even support them personally, it could impact their portrayal. It may be done incorrectly, distastefully, or just not with the level of care it deserves, only being used as a marketing tactic for Hogwarts Legacy rather than a progressive attempt at inclusiv
Editor’s Note: Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has been accused of transphobia by those in the LGBTQ+ community. Although not directly involved in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, Rowling does stand to earn royalties from the game. We would like to reiterate our support for trans rights and that trans identities are valid. Support services are listed below for trans people impacted by discussions of transpho
Hogwarts Legacy walkthrough|https://hogwartslegacyfans.com/ Legacy’s announcement trailer and official website constantly harp on about how your choices will define the fate of Hogwarts, the wizarding world, and yourself. If there’s so much at stake, I’d prefer that my choices weren’t only dictated by dialogue options. Movies like Star Wars and the Harry Potter series constantly talk about how tempting the dark side is, but it’s really hard to put that temptation into a video game, let alone make the player feel
