A Repair Account window will prompt you for your email address and password. Then it will run a program to diagnose the network connection problem. It might be that Outlook is not responding, or it's not loading. Here is how to fix outlook issues relating to connectivity and syncing your email. Also, '-g' represents the default location of Outlook installation and the address after '-d1' describes your profile folder's default path. Therefore, if you installed your Outlook application in a custom location, you'd have to substitute '-g' for the custom location.

If you have Outlook in your startup folder, remove the shortcut from the startup folder. Use the classic Outlook for Windows connectivity troubleshooter to troubleshoot Outlook connectivity issues. When you install Outlook, an Inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) is also installed on your PC. The Inbox repair tool can resolve problems by scanning your Outlook data files, and repairing errors. In the first place, check whether your antivirus is up-to-date. If the above does not help, turn off the antivirus and see if it brings Outlook back to life. Sometimes, these antivirus or security apps might block or restrict the outgoing connectivity. For example, the first time you try to Dismiss All on a list of reminders, Outlook asks you if you're sure you want to do that. If you don't choose an option on that dialog box, Outlook won't let you do anything else. Pressing Alt+Tab will help you switch from window to window and help you see what dialog boxes might be stopping Outlook from responding. When you start Windows normally, several applications and services start automatically and then run in the background. These applications and services can interfere with Outlook.
